Hobbies include travelling, gardening, arts and theatre. Member of the Rotary Club and chairman of a small local charity offering work to the disabled. |

Has lived in Oakley for nearly 21 years. Married to Derek, one of the editors of Link. Retired in 1998 after 21 years from Sun Life of Canada. Belongs to Oakley and Deane WI and was a helper at the day centre, until it closed. Has two children and four grandchildren. Doesn’t get a lot of time for hobbies but enjoys reading, having holidays and being with the family. |

Welcome Pack for new residents
Moved to Oakley 8 years ago to be closer to her daughter’s horse! Married to Paul with three children, five grandchildren. Involved with the Oakley Pantomime Society writing, directing and performing (sounds very grand but really just a lot of fun!). Belongs to Oakley Community Church and has taught at the King’s School in Basingstoke for twenty-five years, though she hung up her mortar board during 2007 to indulge in her hobbies, which include writing, travelling and, of course, drinking red wine! |  | Graeme Hewitt Originally, after studying the arts and especially photography, Graeme turned his hand to journalism and was the first photographer ever to have a picture on the front of 'The Times' snapping all the members of the Royal family over the years, For forty years Graeme has had a love for music and has run 'The High Society Jazz' for all of that time which has included playing along side Acker Bilk, Kenny Ball, Chris Barber and the late Humphrey Lyttelton. His band was voted the 'Best Marching Band' - competing against bands from all over the world - at a festival in Holland in 1985. Graeme, now retired, moved to Oakley two years ago with Marian his partner and still plays every week. |

Has been a member of Oakley and Deane WI since 1979 and was persuaded by the members to stand for election to the Parish Council in 1983. Jenny has now retired as a teacher from Fort Hill Community School having worked there for 21 years and can now take up hobbies and interests including a more active part in village life.
