As the Local Planning Authority, Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council consults the Parish Council on all new planning applications including those relating to tree work. The Council's Planning Committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss applications received, comments on which are then forwarded to the Borough Council. These comments, including any objections, are then considered in the same way as those received from neighbours who may be affected by the development and the Borough makes the final decision on whether or not to grant planning permission. The Parish Council publishes a list of new applications on a regular basis which gives the name of the committee member dealing with each application. Please see links below for recent lists.
Local residents who have an interest in any application being considered are very welcome to attend Planning Committee meetings (usually the third Thursday of each month) and, where appropriate, join in with the discussion.
