Oakley  since 2001.  She attends the Annual Parish Meeting each year and also  other meetings where there are specifically County Council issues to be addressed.  Her ‘post bag’ is mainly concerned with Highways -  potholes and flooding being top of the list.  Road safety issues and speed limits come up frequently and the B3400 has kept her busy over the years resulting in various changes to speed limits.  County Councillors have devolved budgets from which grants can be made for community purposes and she has been able to support Oakley initiatives such as start-up costs for the Community Association, the Men’s Shed and the loudspeaker system for the village sports ground.

Anna's main work for the County Council is the Chairmanship of the Culture and Communities Select Committee which covers the Library Service, Country Parks and Recreation and Heritage issues.  In this capacity she sits on the Basingstoke Canal Management Committee and the Council of Partners for the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  She is also a member of the Policy and Resources Select Committee and the North Hampshire Road Safety Council, and is the Chairman of the Victoria County History Hampshire Project whose work is at present centred on the Basingstoke area.
