Oakley's Village Ponds

Main Pond (Rectory Rd / Hill Rd / Oakley Lane)

This historic pond is a local landmark, once used by WWI soldiers to water their horses. Rebuilt about 20 years ago and restored again in 2021, it’s now a peaceful spot to sit and watch the world go by.

Please don’t feed ducks bread
Bread harms the water and the ducks. Try these instead:

  • Halved, seedless grapes (keep off the ground — they are toxic to dogs)
  • Cracked corn, oats, or grains
  • Defrosted peas or sweetcorn

Second Pond (Rectory Road)
This smaller pond collects rainwater and sometimes floods. Plans are underway to clear it and plant a bog garden with spring bulbs and small trees — creating another calm space to enjoy.
