Food waste collections

Weekly food waste collections are coming to Basingstoke and Deane from October.

When the service starts your food waste will be collected weekly on the same day as your waste and recycling, unless the Borough contact you to tell you otherwise. All food waste collections will start during the week beginning Monday 6 October.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council will deliver everything you need for your new food waste service during August and September.

For inside your home:

• a grey indoor caddy

• a roll of 52 liners

• an information leaflet

For outside your home:

• If you have wheeled bins collected at the kerbside, you will also be provide with a green outdoor caddy. Write your house name or number on this caddy in the blank white square using permanent marker or paint.

• If you use communal waste bins, your shared bin for food waste will be delivered separately.
