Register of Members' Interests

All borough, parish and town councillors are required to complete a Register of Members' Interest form. The forms must be submitted to the Borough Council's Monitoring Officer within 28 days of the date of election or co-option.   To view the details for your councillors, please use the following link:   democracy.basingstoke.gov.uk/mgParishCouncilDetails.aspx?

In addition, they have to abide by the local government Code of Conduct and declare their financial interests in the parish. Councillors must also declare a personal or pecuniary interest in any matter under discussion at a parish council meeting.

Some years ago Oakley & Deane Parish Council adopted a policy not to pay allowances to members of the council other than travelling expenses for trips outside the parish at the agreed HM Revenue and Customs rate.  The policy was reviewed and re-adopted in December 2018.
