Dog Fouling – Keep Our Streets and Parks Clean
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is responsible for maintaining clean streets and parks across the borough. They remind all residents that failing to clean up after your dog in any public area is an offence. If caught, you may receive a fixed penalty fine of £50.
In Oakley, all parks and open spaces have bins available — some specifically for dog waste, others for general litter. Please help keep our community clean by using these bins.

Reporting Abandoned Vehicles in Basingstoke
If you spot an abandoned vehicle, report it to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. They aim to check reports within 3 working days and remove abandoned vehicles ASAP.
They will not investigate if:
- The vehicle is taxed and working.
- It’s been on private land for less than 2 months.
- It’s been on public land or roads for less than a month (unless damaged).

Dead Animals & Lost Pets
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is responsible for the removal of deceased animals from highways and public areas.

Domestic pets found will be scanned for microchips, and owners will be contacted if identified. Pets are retained for one day to allow owners to collect them.
The Council maintains records of all reported deceased, lost, and found domestic pets. If you have a missing pet or suspect involvement in an accident, please contact the Council.
